Medical ! How often?

If I obtain a JAA PPL at 48 how often will I need to have a medical to stay legal and how much should it cost?

At 48 you will need a class 2 renewel in 2 years BUT when you get to 50 it becomes an annual event im afraid. if I remember rightly, a class 2 costs about 140 quid.

The 140 quid should cover the ECG and the fee to the CAA for looking to see if a heart attack is imminent!

Ah, but I thought that being presented with a bill for 140 quid, was part of the medical test.

If that does not give you an immediate heart attack, then you are probably OK to fly for the next 12 months!

I have just had my class 2 renewal (1st over 40) with ECG done for £125.

Apparently I am still alive.

My initial cost £110 2 years ago.
