Newcastle/Special Branch/What's the latest
Anyone know if there's been any change in the 12 hour notice required by Special Branch to visit EGNT?
I thought I'd read something in one of the flying mags but cannot find it!
Cheers

I believe its all back to normal. Notificiation necessary for over water trips as before, but non needed for internals.
But probably worth a call unless someone else confirms that 100%.

Hi Az,
the situation at EGNT is back to normal, no requirement to inform SB if arriving from UK airfield ( unless flying from a prevention of terrorism act location as per usual).
Hope this helps

Northumbria Police revised the requirement after AOPA Chief Executive Martin Robinson made contact and had the Met's Sir John Stephen write to them, pointing out the error of their ways.
