Talking Let the journey commence..........

I said I would post a follow up to my desperate low last week, failing my PPL skills test. Well........I passed it yesterday!!

What a relief. Last week I just got too damn nervous about the whole thing and blew it on the first Nav leg. this time around I just had to adopt the attitude of not giving a sh*t. It helped me, I know people have their own ways of coping with nerves but this will have to be mine going forward. this just means that I've got to get my licence back from the CAA in approx 14 days in order to go to South Africa as planned at the end of the month....what do you think my chances are? Can you still go in person to present your application??

Anyway, there is a moral somewhere but I'm too consumed with relief at passing that I can't put my finger on it just yet. To all those who are in the slumps of self doubt, heads up because it does feel great when you do get it right. I hate failure but I really think this time it helped me to perform better.

Onwards and upwards...........................

I enquired some three weeks ago as to the turn around time for an endorsement to my PPL. The answer I got from CAA was that it was taking about 17 days.

You can email the CAA and ask what the current time is. It may be best to at least drop it off in person.

Their email is: [email protected]

Thumbs up

Congratulations Backontrack.
To be able to come at it again with that attitude shows determination. Good luck in South Africa.
Regards Friday

I had a similar problem with needing my license back before going out to the States. They told me the only decrease in time with presenting your log book etc in person would be the time that would have been spent in the post. In the end it took about four weeks and I nearly had to delay my flight

Well done! Glad to hear you put last time behind you and have gone on to pass. Did everything go to plan, or were there some minor hiccups?

Although the CAA probably won't rush through your licence issue, it's always worth a go. If it's easy enough for you to get to their office, go on down, and see what you can do. Keep asking to speak to people's managers, take your SA flight tickets if you have them, to prove the date etc.

Good luck

Nice one backontrack hope you get the brown book before your hols .

From some other threads 14 days to get it could be pushing it a bit but here's hoping
