DA40 needs ferrying from Berlin to Kortrijk
Hi,
My licence has lapsed and I have bought a DA40TDI with Garmin G1000 in Berlin.
In a week or so, I will need to get it to Kortrijk (EBKT).
Wondering if anyone fancies 'ferrying' it for me.
I don't intend charging for the privilege and will pay the fuel. Whoever flies it will therefore get the hours pretty much for free.
I will need to see proof of currency in a G1000 aircraft, and preferably in a DA40 (because it's quite different from a 2 or 3 lever quadrant).
Do let me know.

Wow, you’ve bought that aircraft and you’re going to let someone you’ve never met, about whom you know nothing, fly it, perhaps with you as a passenger? This is one of the most stupid things I have ever seen on this site, and believe me, the standard has been set high. Find a professional ferry company or someone you already know and trust, or better yet, find a reputable instructor and use the trip as training to regain your qualifications.

In Canada, if you're seeking amphibian training/checkout/ferrying, it's rare that an instructor would be doing it, it could be a PPL with hundreds of hours in that class of airplane (because they owned one), who meets the insurance requirements, and whom the insurance company accepts to provide the training the letter of attestation. An extreme example of this was the need for a provincial police force pilot group in Canada to be type endorsed in their new helicopter. The only person with that type endorsement in that half of the country (a freind of mine) was a PPLH, who owned one. He was given special authority to train, and issue type endorsements as a PPL, and it worked out fine.
The right pilot for the job is not necessarily the pilot with a lot of letters after their license number.....

It sounds like something I would enjoy doing... but don't think I can make room in my calendar for it.
There are various ways to look at this, but in the end it is up to the new owner to decide how to go about this. I have flown with people I only met just before the flight on several occasions, it is not impossible to get a pretty clear idea of someone's background and experience within that time.

I've bought many planes. Oddly, they're still all in the air.
It's part of my business to allow people I've never met to fly my planes.
You won't be wanting to fly it, that's fine.
