I want to sell the headsets I hung up

Hi Guys,
I last flew in 2008, but kept my headsets as I hoped one day to return to flying. That didn't happen. So, effectively I hung up my headset in 2008. This means I still have two good headsets. I am now thinking of selling my Bose X headset and also a David Clark 10.13.4. Both of these received little use and are in mint condition. However, I have no idea what these will be selling for now. I looked on Ebay and couldn't find anything similar for sale. Can anybody please give me an idea of what these might fetch and where is the best place to sell them?

Sorry to hear you are hanging it up. I've not sold anything on ebay in a few years, but my preferred technique was to run an auction with a really low initial price - then let the bidding determine what they are worth. Sometimes the low starting price hooks the buyers and it bids up high.

I don't understand why a search on eBay did not work for you. I find plenty of both. Enter the Search term and then look on the left side menu for Completed / Sold box to tic. Look at items that have more than one bid.

For the DC H10-13.4 I find ones that sold via auction typically between $150 - $250.
The Bose X sells in the range of $250 - $350.

Bear in mind the OP is from England and, I presume, would have been using the UK site. Prices may be different there, and would be in £ ...

That said a search for 'bose-x aviation headset' on ebay.co.uk did reveal some current listings, and I'd expect your advice re the completed auctions would be valid there too. Otherwise I'd be inclined to agree with IFMU; it's been my experience that a low (£1) starting price will often lead to a seemingly higher end result. Takes a bit of fortitude sometimes though!

FP.
