Any specifics as to what you would like to have done? Are we talking a transponder upgrade or would you like a full Garmin 1000 fit? I won't be able to help out, but I am interested in how you are going to tidy up this nice period panel.

For begining we are adding fuel computer MGL VELOCITY FF3 FUEL COMP than later something like
uavionx AV30.
We have experience with total cockpit face lift on C172, but this time going much more conservative.
One can dream, right? I was just thinking what I would do to this panel given unlimited funds....
Throw away the old transponder, you'll need a mode-s one soon anyway (most likely). Mount a modern Com/Nav/GPS in that corner.
Throw out the CDI at the bottom right, mount the RPM indicator in that corner.
Move the ASI to bottom left and mount two AV-30s top and bottom instead of current ASI and AI location.
Use a TailbeaconX to cover transponder needs (controllable from the AV-30s and includes ADS-B and such).
Mount the fuel computer where your current radio sits.
That should leave you with a lot of new gadgets with plenty of old-fashioned backups to fall back on. Old-fashioned look will still be intact.
Edit: I'm sure there are some illogical choices in there.... but I said I was dreaming...
