Angel Lambada 100HP glider tug- how much for lease?

Hello,

I am creating an advertisement to lease my UFM-13 Lambada to a gliding club in the UK. Rotax 912S, 100HP. As I don't use it very often.

Would anyone be so kind as to let me know what sort of price I might ask for this in the advert?

Regards,

Just curious, with all the Munich Models now finally dead, do you need an AOC to lease out such a small tug? That would dramatically change the calculation.

I think another problem might be there are no UFM-13 Lambada aircraft currently registered in the UK. Leasing an "unapproved" EI- registered type to a UK club might be something to ask the CAA about?

It was a shared ownership model to avoid being forced to erect a fully blown AOC for commercial operations.

A lot of grey'ish charter ops used to sell tiny aircraft shares so somebody leasing or renting a plane could (try to) argue/claim being an owner of the aircraft in question. After the Sala accident a lot of discussion took place on the issue of 'flying for emuneration is commercial operations' and with EASA OPS regulation EU 965/2012 2 1d now in place it finally closed the grey door (on paper, enforcement still to come). Maybe the related EASA frustrating decision finding process was one more reason for us to leave EASA and go for FAA and Canadians cooperation in aviation?

Is this a tug, or just an aircraft that might be converted? If it is configured as a tug where has it been used?

And has it been approved for glider towing in the UK?

Hi,

Good point- not approved as far as I am aware actually. It has a tow hook installed by the manufacturer

The aeroplane is not listed on the BGA website as an approved type so, I presume, will need approval by them before being used. You don't say where the aircraft is registered Ireland/elsewhere and as what. Is it an EASA powered sailplane or a Irish CAA SLMG?

It has never been a requirement to have an AOC to rent out an aeroplane. flying clubs have survived by renting aircraft form individual owners. An AOC is required for commercial air transport, freight or passengers. EU 965/2012 deals with commercial air transport operations so not applicable here. Whilst we are members of EASA there is no need to change the country of registration but I presume the BGA will need to approve the type for use by gliding clubs in the UK.
