Moving aircraft from non EASA to EASA Countries

Does anyone know if an aircraft registered in Switzerland is on an EASA CofA or a Swiss CofA.

We are thinking of buying a Swiss registered aircraft and have heard horror stories about this.

The owner should provide you with a copy of the aircrafts CofA and this will provide you with the only unambiguous answer.

We were considering one a year ago but it looked so complicated, especially with regard to VAT, we gave up.................

EASA has nothing to do with VAT and neither does the CAA.

There may very soon be a huge amount of experience in moving aircraft from an EASA country to a non-EASA country.
Both the Group's which I'm in may have to do so.

Switzerland is an EASA member and applies the same rules as other member states. The transfer of aircraft should not therefore be a problem

Switzerland is EASA member state, so moving the registry should be no problem.

If change of registry turns bad, look for another advisor with more wits.
