App for calculating hours in group aircraft?
I just wondered if there is such a thing as a simple app for light aircraft with a one off purchase cost that allows input of the tach time at the start and the finish and calculates the hours to go to the next 50 hour service and allows provision for departure point, arrival point, taxiing time and therefore total chock to chock time.
Yes I know the maths aren’t difficult, it’s just that at the end of the flight when you’re busy wrapping things up it would be nicer than having to fill in about 10 boxes on a sheet of paper or 40 boxes if you have done 4 sectors. If the info could be shared between group members i.e uploaded that would also be ideal.

That's a good idea. It should also collate the output for download on a PC as a spreadsheet (CSV) for accounting and engine logs.
And of course, there would have to be both Android and ios versions, as in any group there are people that use Android and will NEVER use iphones and people that use iphones and will NEVER use Android. And there will probably be one that doesn't use either and insists on paper. And the one that does have a smartphone but the battery went flat and he wrote it on a bit of paper, it's behind the seat, I know I left it there, or perhaps it's in the back with the spare bottle of oil, no I remember I left it in the pocket of one of the hi-viz...

The "hours 25 hour oil change" and "hours 50 hour inspection" will have to be filled in by hand, as they a!most never take place at an exact hour time, and an automatic calculation would get more and more inaccurate.
A simple Google Doc spreadsheet, or similar, would do it. Probably an hour to write, then everybody can just go to it and fill the next line in on their phones after a flight.
