Flying trip in Sweden
Hi all,
We are considering to make this year a flying trip around south Sweden but we don't know which airfields to choose from as we are not familiar with this area...
Does anyone has experience with flying in south Sweden (up to Karlstad) who can recommend beautiful and nice airfields? We would also like to stop in Denmark on the way to Sweden, are there nice airports in that area or is Denmark to avoid due to the cost?
We prefer airfields with minimum 800-900m runway length preferable concrete (or very well maintained grass) due to a low prop clearance with the ground.
Many thanks :-)
Jurgen

I like the German island of Sylt. Billund, Denmark as a good stop, as you can walk to Legoland from there. There's a hotel in walking distance too. We spent a night in Bornholm island off the coast of Sweden, very quiet and relaxed. Kalmar, Sweden has a super airport, and was very welcoming. If you continue north, Brattforsheden is a fascinating fly in museum, though grass runway.
Consider Uppsala. I have never been there, actually I never flew in Sweden at all, but it is a historic city and the aeroclub seems to have a good reputation. Not in Southern Sweden, though.
NB enne, van harte welgekomen alhier !

Sønderborg is a good first stop in DK. Self service pump for fuel and the landing fee was about €10 (but in Danish krona).
We were just passing through but we want to go back for a stay...

Trip to Sweden
Hi
Ive made several trips to the North of Sweden ( Pajala / Gallivare) in a microlight.
Happy to send you a couple of written accounts which include numerous airfields in Sweden
Make sure you visit Hoganas and Falkopings/Kopings were favourites too. I avoided larger airports altogether.
Its a wonderful country to fly in - especially the wild north - with midnight sun and perpetual daylight during June/July

I live in southern Sweden and I can recommend sturup airport in Malmö or Ängelholm there are several others like ljungbyhed or Kristianstad, the runway in ljungbyhed is quite big
