The Lancashire Landing charity fly in 2018

I've just got the email that this fly in to the sands at Pilling near Fleetwood is on for tomorrow the 9th of June.

LANCASHIRE LANDING FLY IN - HOME

This is a very worthwhile charity that I have supported in the past and can safely say landing on Pilling sands is a fantastic experience.
Thanks to mother nature the surface is smooth and compact - easily able to take aircraft up to Cessna 182 weight. Landing and take off run?
Miles and miles !!

Just to highlight a couple of points...the landing area is at the western end of the long beach close to the Knott End ferry slipway (and handy for the café). It's obvious when see from the air as there are vehicles, tents and flags.
This from the notes about radios..

Frequency

The Safety Com frequency 135.475 will be used by control. If for some reason there are problems with this frequency then the Microlight frequency of 129.825 will be used as an alternate. In the event of a communications problems Pilots should continue to call blind to ensure other pilots are aware of their actions and intentions.Handheld Icom air band radio will be used for air to ground communications from Control to inbound/outbound air traffic.

Damn it, I knew I should have flown down as planned. Maybe even cadged a ride in ETOPS fancy rig. Instead I wasted the day sitting in my new tractor trying to figure out what all the buttons did. 6 hours later and still none the wiser. Next year
