Switch type CB's

I fly a C172S that has several switch type CB's installed for items such as certain lights. To turn the switch on in order to operate the system, the switch is selected up. Perhaps it is obvious but if a CB 'pops', does the switch actually move downward by itself. One might think that they forgot to select the switch on after an event and attempt to select the switch back on.

If they 'pop', the tab goes back to the off position. If the fault remains and you try to select 'on' the tab will not latch back on.

Yep. I’ve had this in a Shrike Commander. Supposed to turn the boost pumps on for low level work. Did a low pass and afterwards went to turn the pumps off but they were already off. I assumed I’d forgotten to turn them on. It was only when I tried to turn them on for the next run and found they wouldn’t latch that I realized there was a problem.
