weekend crash at kilsyth?

Just hrd on the local news here that a GA a/c crashed at Kilsyth after take off at Cumbernauld. App on its way to Oban.

anyone any news?

Yep - I was up on the Campsie Fells at the time (Hillwalking, not flying!)...

...From the local rag, two pilots in a Homebuilt Bi-plane taking part in a round UK race. Had just left Cumbernauld, a/c developed some problem, turned back for Cumbernauld but ditched 6 miles short.

Both occupants ok, but hurt.
