Fairoaks under threat (again)

Surrey's last remaining airport, Fairoaks, is like Dunsfold and Redhill under threat of closure for re-development.

One of the developers is an affiliate of US based 'Westcore Properties' called 'Airport Developments SA'. They bought 40 acres of groundside land and properties in Jan 2016 saying they would use 'permitted development' rights ie planning permission not required in favour of the airport operator.

They lied.

By the way, the Tiger Club moved away from Redhill over 20 yearas ago.

No fear of FNB closing- but no GA allowed there to speak of as its now a very busy -busiest in UK? Biz jet airport. And having ahd a tour round it earleir thsi eyar a very very professional operation ironically catering to the eneds of the peopel who are turning S E England into Kowloon.

Blackbushe now owned by Blink air taxi/biz jets plenty of parking-not much hangerage and a good long runway by GA standards but not sure whether owners want to expnand GA use , some scope for it but on most weekends through the eyar it can get very busy in the local circuit so while there is space on the ground and air for much of the time at peaks it can be very busy. I hope Fairoaks doesn't close but I fear the worst, if Government promises councils for meeting specific targets their normal torpor and incompetence disappears quite quickly and of course a surprising number of councillors are developers/builders/property people where ever you go in the country
