And if the trip advisor reviews are to be believed, they might be best avoided.

I had a flight there in June this year and it was one of the best days out I have ever had. Booked her indoors a flight and we went back in September but the whole thing had changed atmosphere and it was not the same. There web site announced new ownership. Damn shame.

moved Ops to Burniston
What aerodrome is meant here? I did find a "Burniston" on the map, North of Scarborough, but no airfield is on my maps or in my lists.

The OP was trying to reference the now closed Derby (Burnaston) airfield - the original home of British Midland.

It now has a huge Toyota factory built on it..

Thanks ETOPS. I never cease to wonder how some people enjoy sowing confusion...

I know the previous owner who was a very likable person with a genuine love and passion for what he was doing. It all seems to have gone downhill with Blue Eye since the ownership change. They've already let people down.

I flew from Darley Moor last month with a voucher. A bloke saying he was the new owner was there trying his hardest to keep things running smooth and talking to the waiting 'guests' but it was total chaos! On the flight itself, the pilot hardly spoke to me all the way round.

Could be so good but felt very much like a sausage factory!

Let's avoid speculation about legal matters, or names in the posts please.

Any further news?

Gutted! My wife bought me the flight and it was booked in for the summer but cancelled due to a windy day. It's rescheduled for tomorrow (19th Oct) and I've come to call and confirm only to find out it's closed! I've seen some of the press and comment but no one seems to know who's in charge and more importantly where they are - if anywhere. Any info much appreciated.

Gutted also. Due to fly on 23rd Oct in the Tiger Moth 30 years after my first flight in one and now gifted as a 50th birthday present. I called round to view the operation 3 weeks ago and nothing seemed amiss. I've heard that there was some attempted skullduggery over the airfield lease.
