New flying app from Navionics

I just got an email from Navionics - some readers might known them as supplying navigation apps for sailing (plus I think they do some similar things for skiing and hiking). They are announcing a new free app: Navionics Fly. They say it's 'a serious, yet easy to use app designed for beginner to experienced pilots of ultralight aircraft'.

Since their aircraft checklists include Cirrus, Diamond DA40, Piper etc, they obviously have a wider concept of ultralight.

I assume it's only free while they build up a user base. Still, with the established solutions already out there, it doesn't seem like an obvious gap in the market.

I find their sailing app is a handy (literally, useful to have in the hand) gizmo on leisurely boating outings but it's not exactly sophisticated. I just downloaded the app out of curiosity and it seems pretty much the same interface as the sailing apps, and lacking in notable features....like, er, airfields and airspace. Someone please tell me I have overlooked stuff. Otherwise, I fear for the rest of us who will share the skies with a pilot navigating using this app.

Had a look, as you say, no airspace, airfield ARE loaded, but not in the UK, maybe that is all to come, otherwise it is a good road map and that is it!
