Tips on a 1-time Cessna/Piper rental at Shoreham Airport
Hi All,
I'm a Brit living in the US and next month (August 2016) I will visit a family member in Brighton. I'd like to rent a Cessna, Piper or similar aircraft for 4 days and take it to Belgium, does anyone have any advice on how to do that? I'll only be in Brighton for a short time so am looking to avoid a club that requires a long term commitment.
Sussex flying club seemed open to day trip but not 4 days. I just reached out to South Coast Flying Group but wondered if there was another way to do a 1-time rental in the Brighton area besides contacting flying clubs.
Thanks for any advice!

Your licence will indeed determine your options, if it is from the FAA you'll have to either find an N-reg for rental or fly as a passenger.
BTW if you think of flying from UK to Belgium (or any other Schengen country) remember immigration procedures: GAR on leaving and entering UK, on the Schengen side use only "port of entry" airfields - also but incorrectly called "customs fields". In Belgium this will limit you to the public airports EBBR-EBAW-EBOS-EBKT-EBLG-EBCI.
