Wink Flying Schools Near Uxbridge (Help)

Hi All,

I live in west London, (Uxbridge to be precise). I am interested in aviation and hope to pursue my PPL very soon. I would like a "trial lesson" at a flying school before buying all the books ( Thom, PPL Confuser etc.) and putting down my hard cash for a JAR FCL PPL.
What I would like to know is can anyone recommend any good flying school near to my geographical location. I know London and surrounding counties pretty well. So far I have been recommended Willow Air in Southend. I would like the school to be a little nearer if possible as there is not much point in going all the way to Southend for a trial lesson, however if the quality of the lesson is worth it then I don't care about distance. I intend to achieve my PPL in the USA later this year. I appreciate any info you can give.

Thanks

DP

Hi darrylpeters,

I currently live in Northwest London - about 3 miles from Wembley - and I am doing my PPL at White Waltham Aero Club in Maidenhead Berkshire. I certainly recommend them.

There is a flying school in Denham which is very close to Uxbridge. Below is a link to their website.

Hope this helps.

Here's a link to the Flyer directory of flying schools:

I have experience of the BA Flying Club and Wycombe Air Centre at Wycombe Air Park/Booker, both of which are good outfits within easy reach of Uxbridge.

Hi,
as an ex-resident of Uxbridge I would recomend you try The Pilot Centre in Denham.
That's where I completed my PPL (ah..the instructors are still undergoing therapy! ). It's very handy (10-15 minutes away by car), nice little airfield and a great bunch of people.
Their phone number is 01895-833838. They'll send you a brochure and all you need to know for your trial flight.
Hope you enjoy it!

I live in Uxbridge, did my ppl / nt / imc with Cabair Denham, and am now klm sponsored, working at elstree. I suggest you go with cabair (in my biased opinion) they're more than worth the money.
