Oxford - beware £1 per minute parking!

Visited "London Oxford" EGTK on Friday to go to Blenheim Palace.
All fine; uplifted over 100 litres of fuel, paid the landing fee.. except then they insisted on stiffing me £19.20 as I was parked 20 minutes over the 4 hours .. 10 minutes of which I was getting the fuel !
Despite pointing out that if I had visited the next day (Saturday) there would be no landing fee for uplifting just 50 litres of fuel, and I did not mind paying the landing fee, and some of the time over the 4 hours was due to me getting the fuel.. they still insisted I pay the full daily parking rate 'for the time over' - it effectively cost £1 per minute parking !

I pointed out to them how unfair this felt, and that they would lose me as a customer - but they clearly didn't give a sh*t.
So this is a place I will not go to again.

I understand that they plan some landing fee offer in a month or two - maybe so, but be warned - if you choose to visit and you outstay your welcome they will stiff you.

That is a bit steep!

Still better than paying for handling at a big airport though! ;-) Maybe pickup the fuel just before departure?

I still would have asked to see their manager and offered them a pint or something in exchange!

As with all these including hospital car parks, there is enough cases now to warrant working out if the excess charge was comparable to the actual length of stay, if it far exceeds then just pay the correct portion.

ie: if fours costs £100 then another 1hr =£25 no more.

How do they define parking ?
I thought it was on-block to off-block ?
Did you not roll to the pump ?

Would be otherwise better to start engine, roll a few meters and then change mind and call tank truck ;-)

I think in this case, 4 hours were free - and "any" time over 4hours and up to 24hours is £16+vat at Oxford. So by your rule, if 4 is £0.00 then 4h20 should be £0.00 - although I whole heartedly agree, I am not sure many businesses would able to thrive!
