GF,
Is the date set in stone? Famous last words, but WX looks OK for the preceding weekend - not that I have a Cub, but could paint a Maule yellow and see if anyone notices.

N-J,
Probably not. Last Friday, I went for a flight to Camarillo with piperboy84 in his lovely Maule No. 2:

After lunch at The Waypoint Cafe, we were taxying out and ATC gave some avoidance instructions to a just-landed aircraft:
Ground: Cessna 1234, taxi behind the yellow Cub.
Cessna 1234: Taxi behind the, er, little yellow plane
Of course, what do you expect if you are flying a bright-yellow taildragger!

And on the same theme, the ATC controller at Santa Monica asked if I would take him for a ride in the Maule which I did, he in turn invited me to a going away party for one of his control tower colleagues at the restaurant on the field, a gathering of about 40 pilots and controllers. I was introduced to a group of people as "the scottish guy who flies the yellow Maule". One of the folks name tag said "Harrison". I thought better of asking how his yellow plane was doing. Seemed like a down to earth type of bloke.

PB, are you taking your, er..., little white airplane to GF?
Hopefully it'll change again for the better, but according to the GFS it might be prudent to throw a brolly on the back seat...
