EASA PPL Theory Exams
Hi Folks, i'm currently studying Air Law, as the first of my PPL Theory exams, i will probably be sitting it sometime this week.
However, the books i have i got a couple of years ago. I'm worried that the changes to the exam structures mean i'm not studying the sections properly.
For example, i took an online test on AirQuiz.com and selected only Air Law. I failed it because there was a lot of questions from the operational procedures section of the book i have. (Transponder codes, Carrying of survival gear, accident notification procedures etc)
The books i have are the Jeremy Pratt AFE books. I got them in 2012 or so.

Some exams were changed / combined / spilt up in 2013. My memory is that I did op procedures and airlaw together, but it was before the changes.

The airlaw exam used to include operational procedures but that is now a separate exam, but I doubt the online exam has been updated so I wouldn't worry about those questions for the purposes of your airlaw exam.

The system changed from 7 exams to 9 exams in September 2013. For details go to the CAA website and search for IN-2013/061.
The 2013 change introduced a lot of new totally irrelevant questions such as" The time in london is xxxxx UTC what is the time in New Delhi?".
A further change took place on 15 October 2014. This did not change the number of exams or the exam subjects, but it did reduce the number of questions in each exam. Rumour has it that the deleted questions were some of the most irrelevant.

Thanks very much for the info. I'll ignore AirQuiz and just crack on with the app and the books. I'm pretty much done with Air Law. Just trying to remember airspace classification could be an issue!

I wouldn't ignore AirQuiz - it's far more up-to-date than your books and will more accurately track the content of the revised exams.

Yeah i find that Airquiz blurs the lines a bit between subjects compared to the books. When looking for an explanation to a question i've got wrong on AirQuiz, i have to look in a different section of the AFE books which is where the confusion is coming from in the first place!
