Another successful forced landing
An aircraft force landed near White Waltham at about 1800 local today (27th May). I had just shut down my engine at Waltham when the crash alarm went off. I didn't hear any of the Mayday transmissions but gather that a Mayday was received, that the aircraft put down in a field, and that the crew are reported to be safe. Congratulations to the pilot on successfully dealing with the emergency.

Under employed. Also wanted to refresh my memory on 26 at Popham (hadn't previously done it in a taildragger) so as not to upset my passenger on Saturday. Then bimbled off towards Kemble for eyeball practice for Project Propeller, but turned back on account of lightning near the White Horse. I was sufficiently alarmed that I felt I had to go upside down near Pangbourne at least three times.
