Cheapest Fuel in UK?

After a bit of a break caused by a crash and rebuild (fortunately nobody hurt) and then a case of meningitis (which DID hurt, a lot!), I'm back in the air!!

Trying to get back up the learning curve quickly and consequently burning a lot of 100LL. Was slightly amazed to find that The Squadron at my home airfield, North Weald, has just slashed its price from over two quid a litre to £1.38+VAT.

At 1.66, that seems less than I've seen in a long time. Is that as cheap as it gets, or does anyone know of anything even cheaper?

Might be able to afford more hours than I thought I could!

That seems very cheap for Avgas - recently filled up at Barton at just over £2.00 per litre and Tatenhill with £1.94 which seems to be the more normal range.

Nottingham (City) Airport (EGBN) is now £1.54 plus VAT (= £1.85) per litre with a free landing if you uplift 50 litres minimum.

Jet A-1 is 70 p per litre plus VAT with a free landing if you uplift 200 litres minimum.

Fuel - Nottingham (City) Airport

Also excellent cafe at Chocks Away on the airfield:-

Thanks Fireflybob, thats another one to visit, then.

Agree with ETOPS, £2 seems to be about the average. At £1.66 The North Weald Squadron does seem to be showing everyone else up!

Would make flying a lot more affordable if some more airfields cut their fuel to this level!

I assume UL from Tesco at £1.25 is not an option in your case?
