For a UKCAA (EASA) PPL, does it matter where the training has been done?
Hello fellow PPRuNers,
I am currently doing my PPL flight training in France. At the end of June I will have about 50 hours. I have passed no theoretical exams. I have a DGAC Class 2 Medical.
I would like to hop over to Britain to pass the UK theoretical and practical examinations and to acquire the UK PPL (having my flight training done in France).
Would this be possible?
Do any regulations exist about the training having to be done in the same country where the licence is going to be issued?
Would I be required to sit any courses?
Do I have to go through a UK flight school?
Would CAA be OK with it?
I understand I would need to get the UKCAA medical first, but the rest is blur.

Make sure that you have your Logbook entries certified correct by the French ATO/RTF, and bring a certified copy of your Training Record and Qualifying Cross Country certificate with you. These may have to be translated. Your UK ATO/RTF will need these to check that you have completed the required flight training, before signing your Course Completion Certificate.(CCC)
You must have a CCC before the ST.
