AUTOGYRO / GYROCOPTER TRAINING - USA

Is anyone aware of anyone offering gyro training in the USA?

Specifically, the intensive course type of training, over a couple of weeks.

Any pointers to any relevant websites would be appreciated!

You could do a lot worse than starting with recommendations from the dealers for the European factory-built aircraft (though they have to be delivered as kits in the US):

shell

AutoGyro Sales, AutoGyro Dealers, MTOsport Sales, Calidus Sales,

Assuming you aren't a US citizen, quite how they would deal with all the TSA and Visa stuff I don't know.

... or you could try one of the UK schools!

Only if I won the lottery Steve!

eMail from the "Gyrocopter Experience" rekindled my interest this morning but I can't understand why, if they constantly maintain how much cheaper gyros are to run than conventional aircraft, their prices for instruction are much higher in most cases than instruction in a conventional aircraft?

Not only that but they want £450 for insurance and a "returnable bond" of £5000 before any solo flight! Not to mention, that on top of that, they want you to sign an agreement saying that you're responsible for up to £7500 for damage and repairs.

Magni M16 in the USA = £88 per hour dual instruction. Magni M16 in the UK = £144 per hour dual (plus the above).

Won't be happening for me in the UK unfortunately!
