CAA / AOPA / EASA Aerobatics Rating
Hi group,
I need an aerobatics Rating in my CAA EASA airplane license.
CAA says will issue one for an UK AOPA aerobatics rating.
I already have an aerobatics rating for gliders for some years.
Does somebody have some recommendations how to get that rating?
May be at some school in the London area so I can fly to London and get there by some public transport.
I've looked for aerobatics related UK forums but haven't found one.
I have found BAeA Home page but no forum only phone numbers.
Any tips welcome
Regards Final

If you can present suitable previous aerobatic experience (logbook) and demonstrate that experience to an aerobatic instructor to a suitable standard, you can get the rating that way.

I went for my rating at On-Track Aviation in Wellesbourne Mountford. A lot of knowledge shared by former RAF instructors, all in a friendly and very professional manner. I really recommend them and the school.
A very good place to do an AOPA course is with Freestyle Aviation Aerobatic Displays, Aerobatic Flights, Alan Cassidy, Aresti, Better Aerobatics at White Waltham - not far from LHR so convenient too. The legendary Alan Cassidy is the contact and he has an excellent brace of instructors to assist.

I can't train people directly for the EASA rating because we are not yet an ATO. However, I can train for the AOPA certificate, and do the assessment required for some of the other grandfather rights conversions. I'm based at Redhill and the training would be in a Slingsby T67 m.
