Southend Airspace Proposal - Results of Consultation

In case you are interested and haven't seen it yet a copy of the consultation report can now be viewed on the London Southen Airport Website at this link:

LSA - Airspace Change Proposal - Report of the Sponsor Consultation

My general feeling from reading the report is that whilst they may be able to reduce some of the proposed airspace down, the general response is "Yeah we thought of that... but safety of our commercial traffic takes priority, sorry"

I flew from LSA pre-1991 when the old controlled airspace was in place... I think that I generally lean towards some form of controlled airspace around LSA - seen & heard a few dodgy things in the air from the "its my air too" brigade - but what they have proposed does seem as if it will impinge upon GA operations more than is really necessary.
