Continental A or C65 needed
Can anybody help me find a serviceable A or C65 to complete the rebuild of our Porterfield which got a bit bent last June. Airframe repairs are nearly complete, but the old A50 is probably worn out. Prefer a motor with logs and lots of hours remaining, but anything considered. Don't need the ancillaries, a set of serviceable cylinders might do the trick. Any assistance gratefully received to get our rare machine back in the air. Cheers.
Just as an FYI there was an A65 Continental, but no C65...
There were both A75 and a C75s... The A75 was basically an A65 that revved higher. The C75 made its power through larger displacement instead. There was also an A80, which was an A75 with higher compression ratio. Quite confusing!
Good luck finding a good A65 for the Collegiate! I think it'll be much better than the A50. Its a cool plane.

Thanks everybody for all the leads. We have purchased a low time A 65 for the Porterfield, now seeking an exhaust system, looks like an Aeronca Champ one will fit. Any ideas anyone?
