61.75 renewal in the US for EASA

so I got my EASA conversion from UK CAA complete with a TMG rating I never had and only a couple of mistakes in my birthplace and address and sent to the wrong new US address (fortunately Fedex figured it out) - came through in a couple of weeks.

Anybody renewed their 61.75 with the new numbers in the US and how did you go about it - do you just make like it is a brand new one and apply to the CAA for verification and pitch up at a FSDO ? When I did it the last time (for plastic licenses) the FSDO had no real idea what I was there for and had to call Oklahoma at length although they were jolly nice about it.

One of the options was to retain your UK licence as a lifetime ICAO licence.
