Medical ECG question, is it needed?
Hi Guys,
I am trying to book my Class II medical but the two doctors I had spoken with have 2 prices dependant on if I need an ECG or not?
Im 34 (May 79) and my first medical was done 5 years ago and expires today, I had an ECG then.
Neither of the people I spoke to could confirm if I need an ecg or not due to new rules and age etc they'd need to look it up, but with an £80 difference I was curious to find out for myself.
Thanks, Yodi

According to http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/1859/Medic...ty%20Table.pdf then you shouldn't need an ECG unless clinically indicated.

I just did a class 2, albeit in Aus and did not require an ECG. Aus is falling in line with international standards now, so I am guessing its the same.
Being a chronic asthmatic I had to do other tests that most people wouldn't. Was there a reason you did an ECG initially?

According to the CAA
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/49/Medical...EASA%20147.pdf
The ECG shall be carried out at the first medical following the 40th birthday and then every 2 years following the 50th birthday.
