Eddsfield Airfield

Hi,

Anyone remember Eddsfield? The hangars collapsed in the snow a few years back but this field is still very much alive and one of the best smaller fields I have visited.

They have a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/eddsfieldairfield

Aswell as a the website which still has a live webcam and weather updates: Eddsfieldairfield

They have an 800m runway so they can accommodate almost everything up to a light twin. The fuel is cheap too at £1.88 with a £5.00 landing fee or £10.00 for the night!

Thought I'd just let everyone know if they had any interest in this area of the UK

Cheers,

GBOZR

Eddsfield is still alive and kicking. If all goes well, new hangars will be erected. Lovely setting. Crematorium very close if you get it badly wrong.

Haven't been in for a few years but remember there was some very high Conifers ( 40ft+?)immediately at the end of 27. Have they been cut?

No. A 3degree approach is not a good idea.

Funny, they don't look nearly as bad as how I remember them at all!

...and after you had a pint or three you could pop into Cambrai Covers for your new aircraft cover - they're in the village!

One of my favourite airfields - beautiful surrounds and only 15 mins or so by taxi ( or one of resident pilots for a fiver) into Scarborough.
