Flying into Yeovilton - any tips?
As the thread topic says, I'm intending flying into Yeovilton next week, already got it cleared with Ops, have managed to find an AIP showing the runways (but unfortunately not the taxiways etc) etc, have also used the search function about Yeovilton and read every thread concerning the base but still wanted to ask:
Anybody got any tips for me for my flight in?
In particular I'd like to know that, if I'm planning on picking up someone to fly with me for a circuit or so, where they would have to report to, to allow them access?

It is very easy.
If you can't put it down safely on their tarmac then you have a problem. Mind you, last time I went there I was on short finals when the guy in front of me, also in a Luscombe, went off the side of the runway. However if you do have a crosswind try my technique, land on the downwind edge and angle across it. If you have enough wind and are slow enough you could always land across it!
