East Staffordshire Flying Club - Charity Fly In & Display, Saturday 20th July 2013.

A quick heads up, this year's Charity Fly In and Display at Tatenhill Airfield, Burton upon Trent, is all set for Saturday 20th July, in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Landing fees waived, 3 aerobatic displays (between 14:00 & 15:00 local, and subject to weather) and some interesting visiting aircraft. Food, drink and ice-creams available.

More details at http://esfc.org.uk/archive/FlyInPoster2013_v2.pdf

All we need is some fine weather

Genghis,

Sadly, 'them's the rules' laid down by the airfield operator and not the ESFC.

We will put the question to them again, even if only for the day of the fly-in.

As somebody who flies both classes of microlight, as well as a selection of light aeroplanes, I tend to boycott airfields who practice this sort of daft apartheit, which belongs somewhere in the early 1980s when microlights genuinely were noisy and dangerous. Airfields with one stupid attitude problem may well have others!

I appreciate that this stupid rule has to come from somebody in management, and I know well that the vast majority of Tatenhill flyers are very nice sensible people.
