23/6/13 - Kirkbride Charity Open Day
Just a heads up for this years annual Charity Open day & Fly-In being held on Sunday 23rd June at Kirkbride west of Carlisle. Steve Carver will be providing some entertainment with his stunning Extra 260 and there are a couple of other we are still working on . As usual no landing fee as such but donations to The Eden Valley Hospice are most welcome on the day. PPR is not essential and Avgas is available by arrangement. For more info please contact John Plaskett on 07710 672087

Very good thing
Just an update on the event for next Sunday. Sadly Steve Carver has had to cancel his appearance, but we hopefully have a Yak-52 display coming. We also have managed to persuade a RN Sea King to pay a flying visit and we are still trying to get a couple more, hopefully an update later in the week.

Hello bad bear, sadly we do not have any gliders planning to come on the day.
on the plus side we have managed to secure a few flypasts by the RNHF Hawker Sea Fury and the Yak-52 display from Simon Ducker is now confirmed .

We are going ahead with the Fly-In tomorrow, the wind does look a bit gusty but it's going to be straight down the runway, hopefully a few brave people will give it a bash :-)

So the UK weather struck again with only two visiting aircraft, both from Carlisle.
The display by the YAK-52 who made it from Breighton and the fly-pasts by the Hawker Sea Fury who flew up from Halfpenny Green and the Prestwick Sea King were well worth the wait.
Rumour is that this could be the last fly-in here, so watch this space
