Does anyone remember anything about this incident?

I was talking to a mate the other day who told me about a guy who was doing a helicopter PPL at Blackbush who set off on a solo cross country and got lost. Apparantly he found a motorway and assumed it was the M3 so tried to follow it back to base. Unfortunately it was the M4 and he ended up landing at Heathrow! This was at least a year ago now.

Can anyone help me find out more as it turns out that this fool is my wife's ex-husband!!!

By the way, don't worry about him doing it again as he is already behind bars for other offences!

Regards
wizzy

Wink

I heard a story which was exactly the same, except that the guy involved was my ex-wife's current husband.

Well I guess that's about as funny as you can get from a civil servant

So a helicopter lands at Heathrow, stops all movements and no one remembers a thing! Perhaps I'll try the air traffic forum.
