Had a trip up there last Sunday. Very friendly, lovely scenic run, can heartily recommend the White Heather hotel just off the airfield for Sunday dinner.
Totaly agree, but don't expect a light lunch at the White Heather. We went on a Wednesday for lunch and were totaly floored by the amount of great food, and were told that Sundays are bigger portions!
Marvelous flight up over the tops of the Lakes, lovely airfield with welcoming and helpful staff. A grand day out

Yes a excellent local airfield. Just a shame the concrete blocks stop you taxing up to the hotel. Rumor is its in court beibg discussed as to who has rights over the land. Fab airfield though and a must stop off for anyone in the north west.

The story I heard when up there was that someone had bought the big hangar at the back and didn't want GA a/c near it because they explode......
