Each school has their own favourite set of books
Some prefer the AFE and others the Trevor Thom.
Now most of them are going to be the same with the change over to EASA but the airlaw might be different. You can pick them up on EBay.
There isn't much difference between the two. Engineering type minds seem to prefer the Trevor Thom and the rest the AFE Pratt I think it is set of books.
PS He is doing the tour looking at PPL schools round the central belt if other threads are to go by

AirQuiz - Online Practice Examinations for Pilots! - better than the confuser in my view. But you'll need the books as well - airquiz is just to identify gaps in knowledge and give a fairly good idea of the types and level of questions you should be able to answer.
