Skills Test - what to expect

I'm coming up to 40 hours and my instructor wants me to do a mock test and if all goes well then the general skills test.

I'm just wondering what to expect, so I know how to plan and revise.
Any tips and experiences?

Your instructor should have given you a copy of standards document 19, other than that you start with a pass and only you can change that! Good luck! :-)

Standard response (which examiners usually neither confirm nor deny):

It is rumoured that the examiner is going to ask himself "if this pilot's next flight is with my kids as passengers, will I be happy?". If yes then try quite hard to pass, if no then find some reason to fail.
