Flying in the East Midlands
Why does nobody mention Derby? my husband trained there, and I only hear good things. It's between Hilton and Egginton, just off the A50, so easily accessible, about 15 minutes west of East Midlands.

Mark, yes Jag's still here, not my instructor but had him for one lesson when mine couldn't make it.
Not much of a club atmosphere but I would recommend Donair to anyone, like myself, who is just looking to crack on with their PPL. The membership fee I paid last year was reduced accordingly as I joined in July so I only paid for the remaining months. Gill, who often works at the reception, is one of the nicest people you'll have the pleasure of meeting, I haven't had much to do with the owners Eric and Erika so can't comment on them but my instructor Indy is a top bloke.

For some anal reason East Midlands stopped Donair from taking care of light GA aircraft visiting there.
Therefore you have to go through Signature who are tailored for more executive and business fliers. And hence charge crazy amounts for services that your average PA28 dude doesn't need or want.
What a sad state of affairs.
