Inexpensive night landings

Night flying is a great pleasure and a skill that needs maintenance, but not many airports would let you fly in at night for a reasonable kind of money. Let us share the information about those that do!

Ličge EBLG
IFR/VFR
Landing fee 7 EUR/t H24
12 hours grace period for parking

Vodochody LKVO (Prague)
IFR/VFR
Landing fee:
0600-2200 100 CZK/t (4 EUR/t)
2200-0600 300 CZK/t (12 EUR/t)
ATC fee for IFR 200 CZK/t (8 EUR/t)
Free parking on grass
Immigration/customs 450 CZK (18 EUR) per call

Vysoke Myto LKVM
VFR
Landing fee 60 CZK/t (2.40 EUR/t) + 200 CZK (8 EUR) per hour of night operation

There's a full CAT III lighting system in ELLX which is impressive to approach in your C172

Coventry. Open to 0100L Monday to Friday. Radar, ILS. Certainly cheap for SEP. I have no idea about bigger stuff.

Three eateries on site (steak house at the eastern end, DC6 diner at the western end, cafe at the midland air museum) and a pub (with B&B I believe) at the western end.

Declaration of (very slight) interest, I work on the airfield but not for it.

Another forum mentioned that EHBK Maastricht (-Aachen) makes no difference for night or day operations, but without giving any figures.

Jan, unfortunately, Maastricht has mandatory handling, so the total cost becomes totally unreasonable.

Every time I see things I like this I realise how lucky we are here. Palo Alto, land all night long if you want, full lighting, cost = $0.00. If you want more fun, go to San Jose which has full Cat III lighting and fly the pattern a few times. If you want more rustic, go to any number of places, click the PCL on, and have a ball. Cost in all cases, $0.00.

I wouldn't suggest landing in ELLX between 2300 and 0600 if you don't want a report beeing filed with the DAC
