Duxford LAA Bonus Day 9th June 2012

Duxford LAA and RSA Bonus Day 9th June 2012

If you fly an LAA aircraft (or are think of building one, or even just like being around exciting aircraft) come to Duxford on 9th June, meet your friends and get Bonus Day Discounts. 2012 is the 65th birthday of the Light Aircraft Association and its sister organisation the French RSA. Both groups will be meeting at Duxford on 9th June to celebrate. And isn't Duxford a great place to meet and celebrate!

Duxford is home the Imperial War Museum and must be the premier destination for GA pilots in Europe. Most weekends through the flying season, although there are no guarantees, you are quite likely to see warbirds flying – Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, B17, Catalina and other rare types are based at Duxford.

The Bonus days offer great discounted prices: all aircraft will enjoy half-price landing fees and much reduced museum admission. Single or twin can land for £7; museum entry is £7 for most adults and children come in free. If you only want a short visit to the museum, come in FREE for up to two hours (but I think you'll want to stay). There will also be a couple of free, behind-the-scenes tours.

Can't make the 9th June? Other Bonus Day event for 2012 -- for all types of aircraft:
8th July - Pup, Bulldog, Miles and Auster Bonus Day.
23rd September - AOPA Bonus Day for members and other interested pilots.

As well as Bonus Days, Duxford welcomes FLY-INs. Call the tower for discount details.

If you would like to base your aircraft at Duxford, there are a few tie-downs available just now. Call the tower.

Further information about the Bonus Days and information for fly-in visitors can be found on the web site :
Flying at IWM Duxford | Imperial War Museums
then click on the link to Bonus Days (also airfield information link).
For this Bonus Day, also see the LAA web site.

The airfield team will be delighted to hear from Ppruners (call for PPR, briefing and broad slot time 01223 833376) and to see you on the day - call asap as the popular slot times get booked up in advance.

It's going to be busy in the Duxford/North Weald area on 9th June, with the Bonus Day at SU and the Air Britain at SX. If you haven't booked your Duxford slot yet, do call as soon as you can. It's raining today, so a good day to phone 01223 833376.

The LAA info is here (including info about the St Omer activities):
Welcome to the Light Aircraft Association
