ICAO license to JAA / EASA

Dear folks,
I apologize in advance if this question has been asked or even discussed. I did search for it but couldn't find an answer to my query.

I am at the moment doing conversion of my PPL ICAO to JAA in Cyprus.
I've been hearing and reading about changes on JAA to EASA licensing and I wonder how this would affect my new converted JAA.
Does anyone know if I must make any provision for it or is automatically recognized as JAA/EASA from the start?

Many thanks for any tip regarding this.
Best regards,

Fabian

A JAA licence is recognised as an EASA licence and on expiry should be reissued as an EASA licence. You might like the check the last date that the Cyprus DCA will issue a JAA licence, their website says that EASA regulations now apply!
