Just picked up on this on the BBC. Glad everyone's OK.

Classic EFATO with a superb result by a Student and the CFI. The PA38 was in the climb from runway 28 on the Students first cross country to H/West when it developed extreme rough running with no climbing ability and the CFI felt the engine may depart so he decided to put it down in a field on North Gower asap!

Difficult landing with no head wind to assist the slowing process. This was the CFI's first EFATO in approaching 10,000 hours of Tuition and there couldn't be a finer man when called on for the job!
