Night Rating

A quick question, if anyone can help me out. I'v just got my PPL back with a night rating issued - but I can't see any difference in any of the text on the license, or rating card. Where should the night rating or night privileges be annotated? I want to make sure I haven't been "mugged off" by the CAA! Regards,

On mine, Flight Crew Licence, Page 3 of 4, Section IX.

At the very bottom of this section, "The privileges of this licence may be exercised at night."

That's because its a Qualification and not a Rating, so you won't find it on the Rating page.

So at £87 for the amemdment, that's only £8.70 per word. Very expensive ink they use at the CAA.

£93 if you count courier return. Plus the cost of sending the stuff there in the first place.

If you apply for the night rating at the same time as the PPL do they still charge you the £87?

Yup. I sent my application off just under 3 weeks ago, got it back yesterday, and was charged the £87 for the night qualification, on top of the fee for the PPL.

So in answer to the OP, yes, you have been "mugged off!"
