Revalidation JAA PPL

"required 12 hours and 1hour instructor flight "

Can these be accumulated in planes registered in any ICAO-member state
(example USA with faa license)
or can those only be accumulated in planes registered in JAR member states?
Thanks

Any aeroplanes, but it needs to have been a JAR instructor.
