Passed my Skills Test!

Still can't believe I've finally done it - 3 years after I started and 74 hours logged I passed my PPL Skill Test on Monday

congratulations

what are you planning on doing now?

make sure you don't let your skills lapse by taking the winter off. I know it's easy for me to say, but i haven't flown much since i passed and it feels like i've forgotten loads of it.

where to go from here? try hours building and a night qualification next. NQ is quite interesting.

Congratulations! And I second AndoniP's opinion: keep on going. Especially in this bad season, watch for every opportunity to go flying. It is too easy to think you've done it - you do have passed a major hurdle, your real learning can begin now.

Thank you all! 4 days later I've still got a big grin on my face, and telling anyone who'll listen I certainly don't intend to stop here. Once the licence comes through I'll get cracking with the night qualification (always a handy one to have in your back pocket) and then probably an IMC rating after that. I'd like to do an AOPA aerobatics course as well! There's a few different types to get checked out on at the club too, so there's loads to keep me interested yet. The PPL is just the beginning! SMAZ - I fly from Bournemouth.

Passed my Skills test

Know the feeling, passed mine Saturday and am still buzzing! Just need to do Radio exam then can send off for the license!! Went absolutely perfectly apart from finding diverted airfield, we had 3 of us looking for it in the end and it turned out to be a bit of grass that was a slightly different colour!! Seemed to be fine with me knowing where I was more than anything!

Well done both of you. Good idea to get the night and IMC ratings done, I think you have 'till some date in 2014 to get the IMC done.
