Cromer gets planning permission
Following a four year planning battle with objectors, Northrepps Aerodrome had its permanent planning permission granted on 13th October 2011 at the North Norfolk District Council Planning Committee hearing.
This is an exceptional airfield. The welcome is second to none, it has good food, mogas on tap and the landing fee is £6 for “GA”. Give it a go, it is a breath of fresh air compared with some traditional airfields.

This has gone on for several years. It is astounding the degree to which some locals will pull out the stops to prevent what essentially was a lawful use. The only reason why planning came up at all was the relocation by the operator due to serious bad blood between him and a family member who owned the old airfield. The campaign really became bery personal and vindictive.
There is still a judicial review pending against refusal of the council to take enforcement action when the temporary planning consent ran out. I am not clear what benefit this application will have now that permission has been granted. There is a lot of money being thrown at efforts to close the airfield.
