Aircraft hire in Madrid
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone knows a flight school or club that I could hire a single piston of some description? I often hear light aircraft on the radio on my way into Barajas and I would like to have a look around the area at a more relaxed pace. Just for the record I speak zero Spanish.....
Thanks

Cuatro Vientos (LECU) is Madrid's light aviation airport. It is also a right ****hole and in my experience not a very reassuring place to be flying in, especially for a non-Spanish speaker.
With that said, if your schedule is a bit tight and you are able to put up with the unpleasantness of Cuatro Vientos and the surrounding training area, you could always give it a try. You will have no problems renting a plane from one of the couple dozen schools at the airport.
On the other hand, if you would prefer a more relaxed experience, although it might require a full day and perhaps a hire car to get around, I suggest digging for local knowledge in the Spanish forum here, and inquiring about any of the surrounding airfields in the vicinity of Madrid, including microlight strips.
Hope this helps.
