Not sure what level of flying complexity you are looking for. For basic VFR flying you could try the nifty flight planner software available free from a website which I cannot presently find, but you could try emailing the author Brian Samson who is, or used to be, at [email protected]. Saves a bit of whizz wheel work and is better than a GPS because it still requires you to look out of the window (rule 1 in every GPS manual seems to be "Fly along with your head in your lap")

I use Flightstar/IFR from Jeppesen. Ordinarily, I would never have bought it because of the cost, but it came bundled in a deal with JeppView and GPS NavData.

As a tool for IFR planning it is not bad at all, with polished maps and routing options. It does betray its US roots in a number of respects though, which can make it a bit irritating to start with, until you have configured it to meet your own needs. Generally though, perhaps 9/10 with only the price going against it.

2D, do you find you have to check some of the airway levels against another source?

Plan a route using G1 BCN A25 TINAN and see what happens.

Two years and nearly six months. A new record in The Thread That Would Not Die stakes....

I can email the simple bit of software which I use for VFR planning. Basically takes the place of a whiz wheel and prints you out your headings, times etc. Comes with most active and disused airfields and navaids in the database . You can add your own waypoints by lat and long. PM if interested.
