I'm only a few hours into learning, and I think even I would spot something like that!

I would certainly hope so. It's after x number of hours that complacency may set in and things like this start to happen.

Never forget that the stuff we do is dangerous and can easily kill you. A quick local bimble around the circuit probably more so than a serious x-country, since the latter tends to be much better prepared.
